Assignment 7 - McCrea
This week I used my phone camera to photograph the autumn leaves that are popping up around campus. I might have gone a little overboard on the editing, Apple gives you a lot of fun options like black point to play with.
Leaves at night, illuminated by streetlamps by Cumberland Hall. |
Colorful trees on Hornbake Plaza. |
Some trees are still green, while others have completely transformed to reds, yellows, and oranges. |
A photo taken on a long-exposure phone setting to capture the leaves rustling in the breeze. |
Assignment #7, Stephenson
I took pictures of my day on Tuesday, Oct. 18. This was the most interesting day of my week, admittedly all the days were boring and full of me doing work nonstop.
My bed, where I spend most of my free time and where I do all of my work, as well as my cluttered desk and window. |
This is the Edward St. John Learning and Teaching Center, where I have my first class of the day. |
This is my film class, Cinema and Religion, and we are watching a clip from "The Ten Commandments." It is a highly colorful, saturated film, so my phone camera couldn't quite capture the clip very well, along with the rest of the classroom. |
This my friend and coworker Josie Jack, a junior journalism major. She and I work together every week at the Howard Center for Investigative Journalism where I have my internship. I took this photo on portrait mode. |
This is a panorama I took of the Howard Center, where I work. It's not a super huge space, but there are a lot of people hard at work. |
This is another panorama I took of my choir class for my choir the University Chorale. I thought a panorama captured everyone in the class the best. My director, David Mann is slightly distorted, as he was moving at the time. |

Assignment 6 - McCrea
I took my street photos on a weekend adventure to the Maryland Renaissance Festival. It’s a great place to take photos of people: there are a lot of interesting characters.
Trying on wire elf ears. |
Waiting in line for mac n’ cheese on a stick. |
A mushroom girl. |
A group waits by the food stands. |
A Green Man wishing “harvest blessings!” |

Assignment #5, Watson
For this week's assignment, I documented the University of Maryland in the rain. While College Park was spared the torrential downpour that was predicted from the remnants of Hurricane Ian, umbrellas and raincoats were still must-have school supplies this week.
Raindrops on my car window, in front of Knight Hall. |
Puddles populate the pavement around a manhole cover near the Cole Student Activities Building. |
Dark clouds loom over a near-empty Union Drive. |
Students walk through the rain, approaching Johnson-Whittle Hall and the Yahentamitsi Dining Hall. |
Droplets on a bicycle seat, close to Knight Hall. |
