Photo Assignment #3, Duncan

The person I chose to photograph for my assignment is my sister, Mariah Duncan. Duncan, 20, works at Silver Stars Gymnastics, where she assists children, specifically toddlers, in learning beginner-level gymnastics. Besides her passion for working with children, Duncan aspires to attend Montgomery College to acquire a nursing degree. Her hobbies include dancing, shopping and smoking. A local news outlet would find interest in Duncan, as she has complained about other Silver Stars Gymnastics employees' predatory behavior with children. If not as a news source for a possible story on the employees in the company, her marijuana addiction could strike interest.

Photo Assignment 3- Jones

I shot my 11-year-old brother, Marquis Jones. He is in the 6th grade and has been playing football and basketball since he was 5. He's always played up an age group in sports; he plays 12u for Havre De Grace Football and is the only 6th grader on his middle school basketball team. He loves to play video games, hang out with his siblings, and play with his dogs.

Assignment #3-Glaros

 

For my photo assignment, I decided that my theme was workspaces, whether that was student study spots or the desks of working professionals at the University of Maryland. I chose this subject because for a lot of people, their desk is where they spend the most time, and can often show a lot of their personality. You can also get an understanding of how busy they are just by looking at where they work, like the highly scheduled calendars in some of the photos. I took photos of a professor, students and personnel in the Division of Administration.

Assignment #3 - Newton

 I shot my best friend Teagan Nam. He was playing some songs on guitar he's written for an upcoming album. He's over seven months sober from drug use and restarting his creative career by recording music in the bedroom of his shared Oxford House. I also shot him for the portrait assignment in Photo 1. Unbeknownst to me he had been shooting up in the bathroom between shots.

Assignment #2, Lawrence: Buddhist Monks Visit Washington National Cathedral
