This is Corey Pippin. He's my boyfriend and was kind enough to let me try out a few different ways of taking his portrait.
I was experimenting with single source lighting. The light source was his phone.
I turned off all the lights except for the UV lights for our indoor garden and captured him pruning our basil.
Corey works for the U.S. Census and needs a lot of monitors. Coupled with our TV and an iPad, it's a lot of screens. I experimented with lighting and a bird's eye view.
I wanted to get a silhouette and experimented with screens again to control lighting.
Corey and our mini-Aussie Ellie in his car at night. I wanted to get a different setting other than just outside so Corey suggested his car. I made sure that he kept his car light on so that I could get that single source and box them in visually in the car.
This was before I introduced the actual screens in the picture to get the portrait but used them as a light source and played with color and shadows.
