Taylor Swift Dance Party
The DJ spins variations of Taylor Swift’s songs, spicing them up with electronic beats and creating mash-ups Friday, 27. Sept, 2024. Although he tried to play songs by other artists, fans soon chanted for Taylor Swift’s songs to be played.

The crowd dances to songs by Taylor Swift while wearing glow-sticks handed to them near the entrance. The event – a Taylor Swift dance party– was organized by several organizations, including the Student Entertainment Events (SEE) as part of Terps After Dark.
Daniela Torres, a freshman majoring in Art History dances with Sumner Bergenfield, who is also a freshman and majors in Data Science. The pair met for the first time at the event.
Emaan Farooqi, a senior majoring in Public Health mans the raffle booth as part of their work for SEE. Away from the dance floor, attendees can drop raffle tickets into buckets depending on which prize they hope to win.

Amid the crowd of twenty-year-olds, Zhang Wen, an exchange graduate student specializing in dance therapy busts out dance moves. She is from Qufu Normal University, a public university in the Shandong province of China.
Harmen Siezen, a senior exchange student from Amsterdam sings along to Taylor Swift’s songs. He stayed the entire duration of the event from 9 p.m. to 12a.m. as he said he is a huge “Swiftie”.
Zhang Wen approaches Gabrielle for a dance. Gabrielle Fleming, a freshman from the TerpsEXCEED program – a two-year post-secondary education program for students with intellectual disabilities – has been a fan of Taylor Swift since 2023. She could not contain her enthusiasm, constantly whipping out new dance moves.
Nearing the end of the event, winners for the raffle were announced. Daniela, who has been a fan since 2021, won a Taylor Swift merchandise set.
Beads were also available for attendees to make friendship bracelets.
