Ryan, Classmate Prompt Assignment

My assignment was the theme of love/things I love. I had a bit of a hard time with this one, but I decided to focus on a collection of trinkets and small keychains I keep around me. I chose these because not only do I love each object at its face, but each one also has a story behind it that helps me remember and think about people in my life that I love and have loved.

This is a small sticker on my camera bag that I got for my birthday earlier this year. I love this sticker because it comes from my sister in Taiwan, who I haven't seen in over a year, so it reminds me of her.

This is a luggage tag of a cat that I usually attatch to my camera bag. I got this tag in a village entirely populated by cats in Taiwan (look it up), and while it used to remind me just of that village, it has recently taken on a new meaning. My own cat passed away only a couple weeks ago, so now whenever I look at this little tag I find myself thinking of him and how unhappy he would have been living in that cat village.

This is a small plush Totoro that I attach to my backpack. My sister and I both really love studio Ghibli movies, so this reminds me of her.

This is a small wooden guitar keychain attached to my backpack. I got this keychain in Oaxaca, Mexico, when I studied abroad there in the Winter of 2020. I really loved that trip and the city, and this helps me reminisce about the chaotic market where I bought it.

This is a small 3D printed model of the pokemon Eevee that I had made shortly after my dog passed away in 2019. My dog coincidentally looked pretty similar to Eevee (she was much fatter though), and this is honestly one of the things I own that I value the most because of how much I think of her when I hold it.

This is a pawprint of my dog that passed away in 2019.

This is a "that was easy" button from Staples that I usually keep on my desk. I really love this because when I was little my dad would constantly complete simple tasks and pronounce, "That was easy." Even now I find myself doing the same thing sometimes.

This is a luggage tag that I took from my sister just before she left to live in Taiwan in 2019. I decided to put it on my backpack so in a small way, she would be with me wherever I went even if she was half a world away, and I haven't taken it off since.
