This semester, my "classroom" is mostly limited to this corner of my bedroom at my house in College Park. With my limited knowledge of interior decorating, my desk just ended up in the first place I could squeeze it. That being said, if I have to spend most of my time working inside my room, I'm content with it being here. My favorite aspect of my room/workspace is the natural lighting -- my desk is placed right next to a western-facing window, allowing direct sunlight in the afternoon. I consider the homemade collage above my desk to be the centerpiece of my room: it is large, vibrant, and unique. Adjacent to that is a couple of printed photos, and a whiteboard calendar (my only attempt to stay on track this semester). When my laptop isn't sitting on the desk, my workspace is converted to my entertainment space through the simple action of sliding the TV a couple inches off the wall. A houseplant sits on the corner. Although it is small in size, I cannot imagine my room without it. For me, having a living and natural organism does wonders in livening up a room. On the ground to the left of my desk is the closest thing I have to a shelf: my notebooks, textbooks and worksheets carelessly thrown in a heap atop my printer. It isn't the classroom I expected for my junior year of college, but it's all I've got, so I make do.
