At first glance, it might seem as if my zoom desk is
rather clean, especially for someone with my personality. Now, although this is
my “zoom desk” and even the unclean version looks fine, I must admit that I
have an extra desk in my dorm room. The clutter does alternate from desk to
desk, but it mostly ends up on my extra desk when I have to either join a zoom
or edit photos.
There is no particular reason I have my desk set up
the way it is. It all seems to just fall together like that. I am not a very organized
person, if I like something or I use it often, it’ll end up on my desk The
images I have up on my desk are a few prints of my photos that my friend gave
me as a “going off to college” gift (the football photo was taken during my
first semester so that was not part of the going off gift, but was given to me
by the same person).
The stuffed animal monkey, named monkey, was my first
worldly possession. He goes where I go. He’s seen Greece, Canada, Vietnam, and
of course, the amazing college park. There are also random doodles on post-its.
These doodles are the first sign of my decent into madness, please enjoy. The “Queens
is Forever” post card is sadly not my photo, it’s just there to make me feel
better.
In the image with a “messier” desk, you can see random
bottles of water I have stashed since there is no water fountain in my dorm (my
apologies to marine life). There are unused utensils from the dining hall, an
empty box of film, and random wires that won’t be untangled anytime soon.
The last photo is my “setup” from my house in NY. I took
this photo back in April. I know that this is another self-portrait, but I’m no
narcissist, I simply don’t have that many people I can shoot. Although
everything on the desk and shelves were set up, I just thought it was a cool
photo to include.
